Overall, in the beginning of the century, traditional sectors like agriculture and manufacturing dominated the UK’s economy, while the contribution of business and financial services was grown up when the economy moved to the modern era.
At the start of century, the contribution of business and financial services was in the lowest point. But through 100 year, it increased significantly from under 10% in 1900 to over 30% in 2000.
In contrast, the agriculture sector had contributed in the Britain’s economy nearly 50% in 1900. Regardless of the slight rose in 1950, it plunged wildly and reached to below 10% in 2000. Likewise, the contribution of manufacturing declined gradually from about 45% to approximately 15% at the end of the period.
