The given graph illustrates the number of viewers who paid to use fixed telephone line and cellphone network in Africa from 1994 to 2007, the period of 13 years.

Overall, it is clear to see that subscribers of both series 1 and series 3 rose over the period. while the number of people who paid for fixed telephone line increased steadily over 13 years, there was a dramatically growth in those who paid for mobile phone network.

In 1994, over 2 million people used fixed telephone network which is double more than the figures of mobile phone line. This number gradually rose to nearly 3 million people in 2002. The number of viewers of cell phone network witnessed a parallel trend until 2000, there was a significant increase to the same figure of 3 million in 2002

After that year, the number of subscriber to mobile phone line continued to growth dramatically and reached the peak at total of 8 million in 2007. On the other hand, the number of those who paid for fixed line saw a slow rise in comparison, reaching nearly 4 million viewers in 2007.
