The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a particular Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017 Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant

The graph illustrates the pattern of travellers going to the Caribbean island, categorized by whether they lived on cruise ships, in local accommodations or both of them, from 2010 to 2017.

Overall, the majority of people had a tendency of choosing both the two options of housing between 2010 and 2017. It is also apparent that at the end of the survey, more people intended to stay on the cruise ships which took the second place of the visitors staying on island in the previous years.

Regarding the number of people having experiences of living in both places, it was recorded as the highest figure in the past 7 years. Starting at 1 million people in 2010, the growth gradually happened until 2015 at relatively 2.7 millions, then remaining unchanged in the next year. The year of 2017 witnessed a dramatic jumpto exactly 3.5 million people staying on the cruise ships and on island.

In terms of the number of travellers who lived in local housing, its figure in 2010 and 2011 was roughly 0.7 million then it started to rise slightly before decreasing to 1.4 million people in 2016 and recovered in the next year at 1.5 million. A reserve trend can be seen in the pattern of visitors staying on ships whose figure fluctuated in the first 2 years. Those visitors’ number went up exponentially over the 3 years from 2013, surpassing the figure of previous types of travellers in 2016, and continued its rising trend to 2 million people in 2017.
