The bar chart illustrates a survey carried out in an European country, with regard to the percentage of citizens going to movie theatres during the week, in the years 2003, 2005 and 2007.
It is clear that the cinemas received a considerably larger proportion of customers on the weekend than that during the first 4 days of the week. Noticeably, nothing was changed in terms of the percentage of residents spending time at the cinemas on Friday over the 4-year period.
From 2003 to 2007, the proportion figures for movie theatre visitors at the weekend never dropped below 30% at all. Meanwhile, there are a vast variety of fluctuations predominantly between Monday and Thursday. 20% of people passing cinemas was by far the highest percentage among these days, while the lowest equivalent figure took close to 10% on Tuesday in 2005 and on Wednesday in 2007 respectively.
In respect of the year 2003, the percentage of cinema-goers varied relentlessly during the first 5 days of the week, peaking at 45% on Saturday, then fell off dramatically by over 20% in the last day. Interestingly, the other 2 years of the surveyed period saw the relatively similar circumstances. In fact, on Friday, the movie theatres received the same 30% over the period shown.
