The graph below shows the percentage of workers in 5 different European countries with a day or more illness absence from 1991 to 2001.
The line graph illustrates the percentage of labors who have one or more days off because of health reasons in five European nations, in the 1991 2001 period.
Overall, it can be seen that UK and Germany’s data remained appropriately the same while that of Netherlands, France and Sweden was volitate during the research.
In particular, there was only 2.5% of UK workers that was absent from workplace because of illness in 1991. After 10 years, this number didn’t change much. The similar phenomenon happened to Germany’s line, which consecutively accounted for the lowest position in the graph, with about 1.5% each year.
Regarding another three lines, they were significant changes. France witnessed the most significant decrease from 5%, the highest percentage in the first year, to 3% in 2001. On the contrary, the number of Nederland’s absent workers overcame France’s and constantly constituted the largest proportion of the graph until it reached the peak of 5.4% in 2001. The second-highest number in 2001 was Sweden, which increased steadily at 3% in 1991 and climbed significantly in 1995 to reach 4.5% in 2001.
