The graph compares the total amount of people in China and India in a period of 50 years, starting from 2000.
It is clear that the population in India has increased throughout the years and is predicted to keep rising. The figure for China showed a rise and will reach a peak in 2030, then begin to fall.
In 2000, about 1.25 billion people were living in China, while the number of citizens in India stood at a lower level, just 1 billion. The population of China increased steadily with a prediction of peaking at approximately 1.45 billion people by 2030. In contrast, India’s population increased significantly and is projected to surpass China’s population in 2030.
After 2030, the number of people living in India is set to rise gradually to 1.6 billion, while the figure for China will have a slight drop, to around 1.4 billion people. By the end of the period, there will be more people living in India than in China.
