The line graph illustrates the percentage of the population aged 65 and the above in three different countries such as Japan, Sweden and the USA between the year 1940 and 2040.
In an overview, Japan is the most populated country by the year 2040 compared to the other both countries. It shows a sudden increase. It is seen that the America and the Sweden has a gradual increase around 17-26 percentage.
By the year 1940, the USA and Sweden, has around 9 and 7 percentage of the population of aged 65 and the above, then it increased to almost 15% by the year 1980. Compare to both these countries Japan was 5% on 1940 and then there was a steady decrease in the population near to year 2000.
Every 10 years, there was a mild decrease in the rate of population in Sweden and the USA and it rose soon in one or two years. In case of Japan after the year 2020 there was a huge increase of 25% of population within 3 years.
To conclude, by the year 2040, three of these countries reached near in the proportion and Japan is the highest one among these.
