Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph illustrated the quantities of good four modes of transport carried in the UK over 26 years.

Overall, all four modes of transport were likely to go up during the period when the infrastructure has been improved day by day.

The quantity of goods road transferred started at the point of 70 million tonnes in1974, while water's and road's are quite as much as each other with approximately 40 million tonnes. And the pipeline- the lowest had carry under 10 million tonnes. From 1974 to 1991, the amount of pipeline increased gradually by 13 million tonnes, the same with water but by 20 million tonnes. During these years, the quantity of goods road transported had a slight decline between 1978 and 1982 then went up gradually and had a peak at 81 million tonnes.

After being overtaken by mode of water, there's a decrease in the number of goods carried by rail. 3 modes of transport went down slightly from 1992 to 1995 except pipeline. Then only pipeline mode remain steady at 25 million tonnes in the number of goods, the three others increase again with the highest of 98 million tonnes was road mode
