It is clear that the USA had the highest rate in the period from 1940 to 1955, while the percentage of population aged 65 and over in Japan was the lowest. It was quite parallel between the fluctuation of USA's and Sweden's rates, in particular, the proportion of Sweden rose gradually during the first 40 years of conducting from 7% to 14%. There was a slight decrease from 1980 to 1995 in the percentages of USA and Sweden.
