Essay topics:

The graph blow shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.

The graph illustrates the amount of CO2(a green house gas) released into the environment by a person, each from four different European Countries(United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal) in 1967 and 2007. The unit of CO2 emission used in the graph is in metric tonnes.

Overall, The CO2 emission of United Kingdom remained at top for the whole timeline. However, both Sweden and Italy interchanges each others position from time to time. Portugal remained at bottom for the whole time.

United Kingdom exhibits the maximum release of CO2 which started at just below 11 metric tones in 1967, but thankfully, the amount declined to about 9 metric tonnes in 2007. On the contrary, Portugal represents the least amount of CO2 emission, which was about 1 metric tonnes in 1967,but unfortunately, the amount increased rapidly to around 5.5 metric tonnes in 2007.

Sweden started of with approximately 8.5 tonnes of CO2 release, although a rapid increase in emission quantity bumped its value to a staggering 10.5 metric tonnes in around 1978. Fortunately, a substantial decrease in CO2 emission after 1978 settled the final value at nearly 5.5 metric tonnes. However, Italy reflected a rising trend in CO2 emission which doubled its initial value from 4 metric tonnes to 8 metric tonnes in between 1967 to 2007.
