The bar chart shows the percentage of intercontinental and home scholars gaining at least a second class degree at a major UK educational institution in eight subjects in 2009.
Overall, the UK students tended to achieving a second class degree in Art history and Sociology while international students tended to do better at Information technology.
For the UK students, over half of them were awarded a second class degree or better. Art history and Sociology were the two subjects that most-achieved second class degrees or better by students. Electrical engineering, Information technology had lower percentages than international learners, 60% compared to 80% and 58% compared to 88% respectively. In addition, UK and multinational students were equally represented in subjects related to Nursing, at about 75% each. The same was also true for Accountancy, at 60% each.
For international students, percentages of learners gaining at least a second class degree were similarly high. The largest percentage of good passes was in Information technology (88%) while the lowest was in International law (nearly 50%).
