The line graph shows world population growth over a period of 300 years and the bar chart illustrates the number of people living in developed and developing countries. At first glance, it is evident that global population have significantly increased in many years

It can be seen from the line graph that global population only had about 1000 million people in 1800 and this figure slightly increased to 2000 million people in 1920. By 1940, the number of people started to dramatically rise. It is predicted to peak at over 8 billion people in 2050, and then dramatically decrease to just over 6 billion people in 2100.

In 2015, the number of people living in developed countries was lower than developing countries by approximately 1000 million people. In the years to come, population in developed countries will remain stable, at around 1.3 billion people whereas the figure for developing countries will continue to increase to 4 billion people in 2040.
