Overall, the proportion of young Canadians holding a degree is double that of the older group. Moreover, the majority of people in both groups study social science and arts for post-school qualifications.
The field of social science and arts attracts the highest number of students in both age groups, constituting 20%. The proportion of Canadians aged between 25 and 35 majoring in administration and education exceeds that of the 45-55 group by a slight gap. A similar pattern can also be seen in the data of the education field for two groups.
Only 9% of Canadian adults aged 25-35 study engineering, which is 10% less than that of the older people. The opposite pattern is evident in the distribution of Canadian postgraduates specializing in science, mathematics, and computer science.
