The line chart describes the proportion of loans in various types of material in two libraries over a period of 40 years, starting from 1980.
In general. It is clear that demand for reading fiction is increasingly going up whereas the figure of nonfiction is decreasing constantly in library A throughout these years. An opposite trend can be witnessed in library B in the same period. Beside this, the multimedia products loanned frequently account for the smallest rate among three types of documents in both two libraries.
Regarding changes in library A, in the beginning of 1980s, many readers tend to choose more non-fiction works with a percentage that stood at above 450%, in comparison with just above 40% of fiction. However; the proportion of loans in fiction surpassed that in the number of non-fiction loans from the 1990s and this is predicted to remain their increase over many following decades. In addition, there is a fluctuation in loans of dvds before being followed by a considerable plummet after 2010.
Looking at the data collected in library B, while the number of non-fiction books chosen by readers is soaring rapidly from 1980 until 2020 as a prediction, a constant drop is regarded in fiction books throughout this period, which can hit the nadir of 30% in 2020. The loan in multimedia ones like CD/DVD disks marginally increased from 1980 to 1990 before going down to roughly 5% in 2020.
