<span style="font-size: 19.36px;">The given bar charts compare the household expenses of five categories in the UK and New Zealand in the span of twenty years.

As we can see in the charts, British household spent the most money in entertainment throughout the twenty years. It is also noticeable that in 2008, New Zealand families no longer spent the most in food and drinks but in utility bills.

When comparing the spending patterns of UK families in 1980 and 2008, it is noticed that leisure constitutes the highest percentage of spending, which increased moderately by 7%. The following category is utility bills that only rose slightly from 26 to 28%. While the expenditure on transport dipped by 1%, the amount of money spent in food and drinks dropped significantly by 10%.

As for families in Australia, the charts illustrate food and drinks is replaced by utility bills as the highest spending category in 2008. In contrast with utility bills that rose from 27% to 31%, Australians spent less in food and drinks by 4%. Australian families spent a comparable amount of money in transport and leisure. The amount of money spent increased and decreased by 1% in the category of transport and entertainment respectively. </span><br>
