The figure elucidates the amount of money spent on books in several European Nations between 1995 and 2005. At first glance, it is evident that in comparison with states, France is the merely country which faced a dramatic upsurge over the entire period.

To begin with, there was a remarkable growth for spending money on books in Germany from 1995, which made up at 80, to 1999, which constituted at 90. Nevertheless, it experienced a gradual palpitation in the next 6 years to achieve at just below 100. Following the same pattern as Germany, there was a considerable fluctuation in Italy where it, initially, stood at 50 and terminated to just above 60 by the end of the period shown.
