The line graph demonstrates how many students from Iran, Greece and Turkey registered in Sheffield University over a 5-year period from 2005. In general, what stands out from the graph is that whereas the figure of Iranian and Turkish students rose over the period, Greek students’ popularity witnessed a dramatic decline.

Focusing on students from Iran and Turkey, the number of which started at 38 and 20 respectively. The figures gradually grew in similar proportion, with two overlaps in the middle of 2006 and 2008. However, during the last phase of the period, the figure of Turkish students experienced a marginal growth until it reached its peak at around 120 pupils in 2009, while the number of Greece students considerably improved and peaked at 160 pupils in the same year.

By contrast, regarding Greek students, there was a slight decrease from 180 in the first year of the period before seeing a dramatically fall to approximately 70 students in the next year. This was followed by a levelling off and ended with a marginal slip to solely 42 pupils.
