The line graph illustrates the percentage of the use of computers, mobile phones, CDs, the internet, DVDs, in the UK between 1997 and 2001.

In 1997, 60% of DVDs used in the UK. This figure fell before rising steeply to reach a peak of 80% in 1998. From then on, however, it decreased steadily to a level of about 10% in 2001.

In 1997, half of all CDs used in the UK. The growth in this category was constant over the period. Mobile phones were used in 1997, in the UK with the beginning at 40%, and this figure climbed swiftly progressing 5 years and traversed to 80% by 2001. On the other hand, using the computer was 20% in 1997, although the growth of this category also increased dramatically, rising from about 20% to around 90% during the period. The proportion of the usage of the internet was 10% in 1997. It gradually increased and reached 40% in 2001.

Overall, the percentage of using the computer was the highest of four classes of technological devices. This category experienced a sharp growth from 1997 to 2001, whereas there was a continuing upward trend in the using of other devices expect CDs, DVDs.
