It is evident that the percentage of poor single females without children accounted considerably 54% of total, but the figure of single females who had children were only 8%. For married females, those who had children made up 12% which was 14% lower than the proportion of those with dependent children.
Turning to the bar chart, the poverty rate of females were higher than that of males in general. At the age range from under 5 to 17, there was nearly no difference between the poverty rates of males and females, since the figures of both genders were about 21% and 16% at the ages under 5 and 5-17, respectively. However, the gap became larger when they were from 18 to 34 and at the age range 75 and over in which the poverty rate of females was approximately 5% higher than that of males. Finally, the difference in both sexes' rates was moderate at the ages from 35 to 74, hovering around 2 to 3% .
