the pie chart show the electricity generated in Germany and france from all sources and renewables in the year 2009. summarize the information by selecting and reporting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Contained in the four pie charts provided is data pertaining to differences in electricity generation in Germany and France from all kinds of sources and renewables in 2009.

Overall, the total output of electricity in Germany was 560 Billion kWh, which was 50 billion kWh higher than that in France.

With regard to all types of sources that used to produce electricity in two nations, one sees that the major sources were nuclear and conventional thermal. In Germany, it is evident that there was a remarkable gain of conventional thermal, which accounted 59,6%, while nuclear made up modestly 23% in total. In contrast, the most common electric generation source in France was nuclear since it gained overwhelmingly 76%, whereas conventional thermal was only 10,3%.

Turning to renewables, there were modest gain of this source in Germany and France, with figures of 17.4% and 13.7%, in that same order. Apparently, the percentages of biomass and wind in Germany were 39.3% and 36.9%, respectively, making them became the two most popular renewable sources in this country. However, biomass only made up a small proportion at 8.1% in France, and the proportion of wind was just 10.5%. Despite the fact that hydroelectric accounted moderately 17.7% in Germany, it was the primary renewable source to generate electricity in France as its percentage was 80.5%. In addition, it is clear that solar is rarely used for producing electricity due to its minuscule gain, 6.1% in Germany and 0,9% in France.

Finally, neither of two nations used geothermal for electricity production.
