It can be clearly seen from the table that the value of fish increased gradually from 1988 to 2000. Also, there are many changes in percentage of the sources of fish coming to the US through out the years.
First, looking at the table, we can see that 2000 was the only year that the total value of fish surpassed 10 billions of dollars. In addition, the number soared slowly from 6.57 billions of dollars in 1988 to 10.72 billions of dollars in 2000.
In the pie charts below, the sources of fish, consisting of China, Canada and others showed different trends. For example, in 1988, Canada was the main origin of fish imported to the US with 60%. In the next years, the quantity dropped significantly to just 28% in 2000 and also ranked the lowest number in 3 areas. The contrary trend happened in China. Staying at the lowest point in 1988 with 15%, the proportion then climbed quickly to reach 30% in 2000. The final trend was fluctuation, appeared in other areas, with the number rose sharply then fell marginally between 1988 and 2000.
In conclusion, we can see that despite the changing in the proportion of the sources of fish coming to USA through out the years from 1988 to 2000, the total cost still kept growing.
