summarise the information by selecting and reporting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie charts depict the share of Oscar winners by the 7 different given film genres for 2003 and 2008.

Overall, it can be seen that while 'Thriller' and 'Horror' in 2008 became less popular than 2003, 'Action', 'Science Fiction', 'Romance' and 'Documentary' were more popular than before (2003).

In detail, there was a considerable dip regarding the 'Thriller' from around half (46%) to about a quarter (25%) in the final year. Despite dropping in the proportion, it was still the number one genre in 2008. On the other hand, 'Action' witnessed a substantial swell roughly from 15% to 24% in 2008, which was a bit lower than 'Thriller'. There was only a marginal decrement with respect to 'Horror' from approximately 14% to 12% over a five year period.

In contrast, 'Science Fiction', 'Romance' and 'Documentary' exhibited almost similar increasing trends, which meant that they all experienced a rise by around 1-2% from 2003 to 2008. Surprisingly, the percent in terms of 'Comedy' in 2008 was as similar as 2003 (somewhere 4%), the least favourite category in both years.
