The given table chart elucidates the information about the distance travelled per person per year by different modes of travel in England between years 1985 and 2000.

A closer look at illustration reveals that, the distance travelled by walking in year 1985 was higher as compared to year 2000. Precisely, distance covered by using bycycle was least in both year which attributed to 51 miles and 41 miles. Along with this, major difference could be seen in distance travelled by using car between year 1985 and 2000. Further, maximum distance was travelled by using local bus as compared to long distance bus.

Furthermore, average distance travelled per person in a train constituted to 289 miles in 1985 and 366 miles in 2000. Moreover, minimum distance covered by using taxi was 13 miles and 42 miles in both years. Lastly, around 130 miles of difference could be seen in other modes of travel.

Overall, I conclude that highest distance travelled by using car in both years.
