The table below gives information about languages with the most native speakers.

The given table depicts the number of speakers for 6 specific languages. It denotes the number of native speakers, non native speakers and the total number of speakers of all 6 languages. The 6 languages illustrated in the table are Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, English, Arabic, and Portuguese.

Mandarin Chinese has the highest number of native speakers. Although, Mandarin Chinese has the largest number of native speakers it ranked 2nd among the number of non-native speakers with 190 million non-native speakers. It was English language which secured the major portion of the non native speakers with 603 million which is far greater than the Mandarin Chinese.

Although, the total number of speakers for Mandarin Chinese is 1,090 million which is the highest among all the languages recorded it was the english language that stood as an anomaly among all the languages as it secured the 2nd highest spoken languages. This anomaly can be attributed to it’s vast number of non-native speakers. Protugese has the lowest number of speakers in both non-native and native. It is recorded as the lowest spoken language among all the 6 languages.
