The table demonstrates the quantities of indie film published in the UK and Republic of Ireland in 2012. Overall, among ten categories; drama, documentary and comedy were there genres that had the highest number of released movies, whereas biopic, action and romance had the lowest figures.

Looking at the number of independent films broadcast-ed widely in 2012, it is clear that the drama, documentary, comedy had witnessed the highest number of films released, with 35, 35 and 26 films, respectively. All these three genres accounted for more than 60% of the total published number. Following mentioned categories, the number of films of horror, thriller were in the second places, less than 21% compared to the highest figure. These other genres underwent a small number of published films in 2012, especially, there was just one biopic film in the UK in 2012.

Observing in the sales figure, the blockbusters of the box office was comedy with 45,4% earnings came from ticket sales. However, almost every films bringing back the positive number of ticket sales were films came from unpopular genres such as horror, biopic with 20,2% and 9,1% respectively. These other kinds of film witnessed the low commercial income.
