The table shows information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002. Overall, it’s clear that the proportion of food, drinks and tobacco was largest in all five countries, while the number of leisure and education was smallest in ones.
Starting with food, drinks and tobacco, the largest number of it was in Turkey, at 32.14%, followed) by Ireland, at 28.91%. The percentage in Spain, Italy and Sweden was the smallest, at just above 15%.
Turning now to clothing and footwear, the largest number of it was in Italy, at 9.00%.The expenditure in Turkey, Spain and Ireland was similar, at roughly 6.5%. However, Sweden was(had) also the smallest percentage amount them.
In leisure and education, Turkey spent the most money, at 4.35%, while Spain the least, at 1.98%. Besides, the percentage of Sweden and Italy was nearly equal, at around 3.2%.
