A glance at the figure provided reveals the number of children that were born by female at the age between 40 and 44 from 1982 in Australia.

Overall, it is crystal clear that the percentage of women aged 40-44 years who born two children was the highest among four years.

From 1981 to 2006, it is evident that the proportions of female without child, had one child and had two child were increasing. The families that did not have child had risen from 8.5 percent in 1981 to 15.9 percent in 2006, similarly, the women who had one child leaped to 13.2 percent in 2006 from 7.6 percent in 1981. Meanwhile, the proportion of females who had two children accounted for 29 percent in 1981, followed by around ten percent increase in 2006.

In a sharp contrast, the portion of women with three children and four or more children witnessed downward trends. Decreased by nearly 6%, 27.4 percent of women born three kids in 1981, whereas, with 21.5 percent in 2006. From 27.6 percent in 1981 declined to 11 percent in 2006, the proportion of women who raised four or more kids saw a falling trend.
