The table below shows changes in the numbers of residents cycling to work in different areas of the UK between 2001 and 2011.

The table compares the number of people using the bike to travel to work in the UK in two different years over a 10-year period.
Overall, there were more inhabitants commuting by bikes in all areas after 10 years. It is clear that Inner London had the highest cyclers and the percentage change over the period surveyed.
In the year 2001, 43,494 residents cycled to work in Inner London, after which this figure increased significantly to 106,219 with the remarkable percentage change, at 144%
Outer London, by contrast, remained the second-highest cycler numbers over 10 years, but the proportion of change was only 45%. The second area in terms of change percentage was Brighton and Hove (106%).
Turning to the remaining areas, which had experienced the rise in the number in the numbers of people cycling to work by 2011. The figures for Manchester and Sheffield doubled to 8,426 and 4,267, respectively. More significantly, there was a threefold growth to 3,233 in Newcastle upon Tyne's cycler numbers.
