1980.

The provided bar chart compares the amount of restraints per 1000 cases in particular countries, namely Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, US and Canada between the period of 1930-1980. The most striking feature is that United States and Canada were the leaders of imprisonment cases over the period.
To start with, the numbers were erratic for all five nations, except for the Great Britain, where the trend was clearly upward during the period of fifty years. The Great Britain, in 1930, illustrated the lowest amount of imprisonment of all surveyed countries, about 30 cases out of 1000. Talking about Australia, there was a steady increase from 1950 to 1970 and stable trend of about 53 cases in 1940 and 1950. In the sector of United States, the numbers fluctuated during the whole period, hitting the peak of the graph at almost 140 out of 1000 in 1980. In New Zealand the amount of restraints declined from 100 in 1930 to 90 in 1980. The cases of imprisonment in Canada fell over the period with some upward movement in 1950.
In summary, the restraint cases in the UK and in the US rose, whereas in other countries they went down, which means that the number of the law breaking actions also decreased.
