The chart illustrates Australia’s five types of vehicles registered from 2010 to 2014.
Overall, it can be seen that all figures were upward. In addition, the highest figure was seen in passenger vehicles, while motorcycles have the biggest percentage.
Turning to chart for the details, in 2010, there was 11.8 million of passenger vehicles registered, compared to 2.3 million of commercial vehicles ones used. During the next 4 years, the number of passenger vehicles grew significantly to 13 million, with an increase of 10.2%. Similarly, commercial vehicles was recorded more considerable rise to 2.7 million, with a 17.4% growth. Notably, motorcycles experienced an increase from 540 to 709 thousand, with the highest climb of 30.8% over the same period.
Remaining to the other transports, about 384 thousand of heavy trucks registered, which was higher than that of light trucks, at 106 thousand in 2010. Throughout the following 4 years, the figure for heavy trucks climbed significantly by around 32 thousand, with an increase of 8.3%. Moreover, light trucks were seen in a significant rise to 131 thousand, with a 23.5% rise in the last year.
