The table gives information about the amount of money which was spent on distinct types of food and beverages in Europe in 1992, 2002 and 2012.

Overall, European residents spent the highest amount of money on beef and chicken. In contrast, coffee and butter/margarine were two types of food had the lowest expense in 1992, 2002 and 2012.

In 1992, the European citizens spent 45 and 38 millions of euros on the beef and chick, which were higher than that of the potatoes, at only 11 millions of euros. Although the budget which was spent on the potatoes had an gradually increase and reached 18 million euros in 2012, the figure of the potatoes was still lower than those of beef and chicken, at 54 and 56 million euros in the same year, respectively.

Two types of beverages included coffee and milk took Europe 9 and 13 million euros, respectively, which is higher than the budget spent on butter and margarine, at only 8 million euros. While people in European countries witnessed a decreasing trend of expenditure on the coffee from 9 million euros in 1992 to only 7 million euros in 2012, the expenditure onthe milk slight rose to 14 millions of euros. From 1992 to 2012, the figure of butter and margarine did not fluctuate, at 8 millions of euros.
