The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries.
The two tables demonstrates data about the amount of gaining euros in scale of million for several countries in Europe by selling coffee and bananas in two various years of 1999 and 2004.
Overall, it is clear while selling coffee was extremely successful in the UK, the greatest numbers of bananas have been sold in Switzerland. Also, the amount of money which obtained of selling coffee rose sharply in UK in 2004 as like the bananas which was over triplicate in the same year.
In the first chart, the highest amount of selling coffee was allocated to UK with 1.5 million euros in 1999 and then increased dramatically to 20. Second biggest sales was for Switzerland which gained 3 and then doubled to 6 million in 1999 and 2004 respectively. The growth for Denmark was absolutely low, with only 0.2 million from 1.8 to 2 in 2004. Meanwhile, in 1999, 1 million was devoted to Belgium which enlarged to 1.7 in the other year. Finally, Sweden rose slightly from 0.8 to 1 million in 2004.
In the second table, selling bananas was a really huge achievement which devoted 15 million in 1999 and then increased to 47 in 2004. Simultaneously, both UK and Belgium grew from 1 and 0.6 to 5.5 and 4 million respectively. Opposite of the mentioned countries, Sweden and Denmark pursued the declining way where both of them reduced to near 1 in 2004 from near 2 million.
