The given bar chart compares the four different modes of transport took by european citizens in three stages of the year; 1960, 1980 and 2000. According to the graph, the preference of transport have changed within 40 years except for tube. In general. majority of people had chosen to use a bus in 1960, which number moved to the use of cars by 2000.

It can be clearly seen that the lowest rates of modes of transports are recorded in train and tube. The percentage of train fluctuated from almost 20% in 1960 to above 20% in 2000, while the proportion of tube showed a decline trend from approximately 27% to 25% within projected periods.

Almost a quarter of european took the bus instead of cars in 1960 as the percentage of the usage of car recorded at the lowest of around 7% . while between 1980 and 2000, there was a dramatic decline of more than half in the percentage of bus usage by people in Europe, there was a significant increase in the car usage to reach at a peak of more than 35% by 2000.
