Last Sunday i received email from your HR department that your organisation has selected me for the post of senior engineer for which i was interviewed. I take this as an opportunity to thank you for selecting me for such a crucial post in your esteemed company. However, my happiness lasted for few minutes as my memory reminded me about an important commitment on that date of joining.
This inability of me joining on prescribed date is because on the date of joining falls the date of my brother's marriage. I believe you will surely agree with me that tying Knot is the most important event in one's life. Surely me and my family won't like me to miss this ceremony. I sincerely believe that you will understand the position i am in and will provide me with some extra time to join. I assure that i will not disappoint you next time.
