The charts show the amount and quality of water supplied to two regions of the world.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
You should write at least 150 words.
The given bar charts depict the information regarding the quality and quantity of water supplied in Australia and South-East Asia. The provided data is for the years 1990 and 2010.
Overall, water supply has increased in both the regions in the given period. However, water quality has decreased in South-East Asia while it has improved in Australia.
Now turning to the details, in 1990, exactly 80% people of Australia were having water supply while the water supply rate was below 40% in South-East Asia. However, in next two decades, water was reached to more population in both the regions. By 2010, almost 100% of the Australian population was having water supply and nearly 80% in South-East Asia.
As regards water quality, the degree of cleanliness of the water supplied in Australia is much higher than South-East Asian region. In 1990, water cleanliness rate was above 60% in Australia and 40% in South-East Asia. Between the years 1990 and 2010, the water quality has improved in Australia (above 80%) and declined in South-East Asia (below 40%).
