I am writing to let you know that I will not be able to join office next week because of the unforseen course of event that happened to me yesterday. Please allow me to elaborate.
Yesterday night, while travelling back from friend's house, I met with an accident that left me with one broken rib and couple of bruises on the hand. I immediately sought the medical attention and I am currently being operated upon in the hospital. As per the doctor's advice I am strictly confined to the bed and on mandatory rest of two weeks, the time required to heal the rib and bruises.
I hope you can understand the criticality of the situation I have been put in. Consequently, I request you to please let me delay my joining date by further one week. I assure you that I will make up for the days I have lost in the upcoming months. I am very sorry for any inconvenience I might have caused because of this late joing.
