The bar chart shows the percentages of the UK workforce in five major industries in 1841 and 2011.

The bar chart reveals the changes in the UK employees in several fields in 1841 and 2011.
In general, the UK labor force in services and construction had an increase, whilst there was a significant change in three remaining fields.
In terms of manufacturing and services, people who worked in manufacturing in 1841 accounted for 36%, which was roughly a quadruple decrease in the percentage of people employed in this industry after 170 years. On the contrary, there were only 33% of the personnel of the services in 1841, which made up for the dominated proportion of 81 during the given period.
Moving on to the three remaining industries, agriculture/fishing witnessed a downward trend through a 170 – year period, which was 22% and 1% respectively. Likewise, the percentage of the British workforce was always in the lowest position, starting at 3% in 1841 and 1% in 2011. Interestingly, the construction had the opposite figures, starting at 5% in 1841 and reaching to 8% in 2011.
