The graph below shows the number of enquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in one city over a six-month period in 2011.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The given line graph presents how many inquiries the Tourist Information Office in one city obtained from January to June in 2011.

Overall, the number of inquiries obtained directly and by telephone showed upward trends while that by letter or email fell down over the course of six months starting from January in 2011. The majority number of enquiries received in person compared to the least number of those obtained via letter or email.

In January, the most number of inquiries received by telephone stood at nearly 900, followed by those obtained by letter or email and in person at 750 and 450, respectively. In the next three months, it can be seen that there was a slight fluctuation in the number of enquiries received by telephone around 900 while the number of inquiries obtained by letter or email witnessed a slight decrease to 750 and then remained unchanged until March. Meanwhile, there was a dramatic rise in the number of inquiries obtained directly to 800 in March.

In the last half of the six-month period, it can be seen from the graph, there was a soar in the number of inquiries received in person from 800 to 1900, followed by a remarkable increase from 1000 to 1600 in the number of enquiries obtained by telephone. Meanwhile, there was a reverse trend seen in those received by letter or email decreasing from 700 to around 390.
