Although you have never formally studied computing, you have always been interested in computers. You have just read about a computer course that really interests you, but it is only for people who have completed an elementary course.
Write a letter to the college enrolment officer. In your letter
explain why you are writing
describe your circumstances
ask if a special exception can be made for you so you can enrol in the course
You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter with regards to your advertisement about offering a computer course, in today's newspaper. Although, I do not have a formal education in computers, I am really keen to pursue it. In addition, I will be joining a new job next month and a lot of my work is computer based, hence I will need to develop my computer skills.
Let me explain in detail. Firstly, according to your article the course is available only to those who have completed their elementary course. However, I do not posses the same. As I started working from a young age in my father's shop, I never had the need to do so. Secondly, I recently discovered my passion for Digital Animation and so I left my family business to follow my dreams.
In conclusion, I would like to request if you could please make an exception and allow me to enrol for the course. Let me add that I am a quick learner and always been interested in computers, hence it will not be a problem in keeping abreast with the other students.
I eagerly look forward to your reply.
Yours Sincerely,
Mary Fernandes
