IELTS Writing task 1
The given bar chart illustrates the details of a survey about how people gain access to the Internet in different places namely home, work, college and library from 1998 to 2004. As an overall, the percentage of people who used internet at home and library remained relatively constant while this figures for accessing network at work and college witnessed a decrease.
As can be seen from the chart, the percentage of people using Internet at home decreased slightly from 52 to 45 between 1998 and 2000. In the next four years period, this number went up remarkably before reaching a peak at about 55 percent. Moving to library, the number of people who accessed from here fluctuated at around 10 percent.
A comparison shows that the percentage of people who used network at work and college had the similar trend. These numbers remained stable in the first four years period before going down to 18 percent with the percent of people using internet college and 10 percent with working.
