An increase in production of consumer goods results in damage to the natural environment. What are the causes and possible solutions?
Nowadays the civil commodities are being manufactured in a breakneck speed and as a result, there is plenty of impairment to the natural habitat. This phenomenon resulted from several reasons and measures should be taken to tackle it.
On the one hand, there is a variety of explanations for this issue. First of all, the increase in the stock of consumer merchandises is accompanied by the establishment of manufactories. There seem to be shreds of evidence that in numerous nations, especially the industrialized ones, trees are being cut down for the purpose of making room for factory construction and this is reportedly attributed to the deforestation. Another illustration of this is that emissions discharging from these industrial units are contaminating the atmosphere, the soil and even the water resources located nearby. In the second place, it is also raising the amount of rubbishes disposing into the environment. It is irrefutable that the major of consumer goods is the disposable ones which can only be used in a short-term. Hence, the land will soon be overloaded with the hazardous waste that is responsible for the degradation of residence of both humanity and wild creatures.
Consequently, solutions should be taken into consideration to eliminating this tendency. First and foremost is to raise awareness among the population through education and mass media. This will indirectly diminish the waste volume released into the environment and therefore, decreasing the adverse effect on the dwelling area. Another resolution that worth considering is that the government should use taxations to encourage people to protect the environment. The value-added tax, which imposed on the supply chains form production to the point of sale, can be an appropriate case in point. Furthermore, taxes can also be used as incentive tools to promote the eco-friendly properties
To summarize, the increase in the production of civil goods resulted in the emerging of manufactories as well as waste disposal and there are some solutions to combat this problem including raising public awareness or using taxes as a means of protecting the environment
