Hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to you to update that I will not be able to join your company on 2nd of October. In our last discussion, I was told that I should be joining the new firm by next week at Chennai location. However, due to few critical reasons I will not be able to join on the planned date. Also, I would like to apologize for the late notice.
Let me explain my situation. My mother is having few health issues and she has been admitted in the hospital to recover from her chronic diseases. Since I have to take care of her for another couple of weeks, I am not able to join your organization in the stipulated timeline. Additionally, there are no tickets available in any modes of transport being the festive time and perhaps this will retard my joining date. I am optimistic in joining the organization on the 3rd week of October. Please postpone my joining date to 16th of October and I hope you empathize my situation. Kindly let me know if you need any other information.
