Dear Sir,
I am writing to request you to grant me leave for a week from 6th October onwards. The reason for my time off is that my sister is getting married on 11th October. Being the only elder brother, I should take care of all the arrangements for the occasion. I would need more time to travel out of the city to invite important relatives for which I would need time off from work.
It would be grateful if you could grant me one week leave starting from 6th October till 12th October, which accounts for six working days during next week. During the first three days of my leave, I will be out of the city to meet my relatives, after that, I would return back and look after the crucial arrangements as the marriage date gets closer.
I understand the critical situation of the project I am handling right now and the importance of my presence. This occasion is the first auspicious event in our family and I am looking forward to it eagerly. Nevertheless, I will be available anytime over the phone during my time off to clarify any queries or concerns regarding the work I am supposed to carry out. I have also planned to hand-over crucial documents to my colleague to handle the project during my absence. Moreover, I could take my official laptop with me and could work remotely from my home in case of critical situations.
