Dear Anna,

I am extremely sorry for missing your birthday party on 3rd August. Please allow me to elaborate on the reasons behind my unavailability that day.

If you remember, we discussed that my organisation had made many resources redundant in recent months. At present, there are only 3 resources available in my team who are working against a tight deadline. Being fully occupied in this project, the team is working till midnight every day from last week due to which I forgot your birthday.

You know how excited I was for your birthday. My wife, Meena, reminded me too about this day on second august but it slipped from my mind. To make up for it, we've decided to take you out for dinner over the weekend.

I heard that the party was pretty loud and vibrant. I hope you've captured all the moments in your DSLR which I would like to see in my next visit to your house. Let's meet so that I can pick your brains and know more about this amazing day.

Please confirm your plans and sorry again.

Cheers,
Pardeep
