You have booked two theater tickets in advance for you and your friend, however due to some reason you are unable to come. Write to your friend about it and say– What is the reason?– Why can’t you move your other commitment to a different time?– S

Dear James,

I hope this letter finds you in good health but I am writing to inform you woefully that I will not be able to attend the theatre show with you next week because of a pivotal piece of work.

The problem is that recently my boss told me that I have to go Delhi on that same day to meet an extremely important client to close a deal which will indeed be quite profitable for our company. In fact, if I get success in persuading him to do to business with us than my promotion will be inevitable. As, you are aware that I had been waiting for such an opportunity since long, it is just not possible for me to postpone me. Also, all my peers are very eager to grab this chance too.

Although, I am certain that you will not only comprehend this situation but will also encourage me to do it at the first place. However, I am feeling bad to cancel the plan hence, here is a an advice for you. You must be familiar with my other close friend Rosh as you have met him before as well. He is fond of theatre and would love to accompany you. Though, I have not asked him yet but I can assure you that you will enjoy a lot with him so please accept my proposal.

I apologise for the trouble and awaiting your prompt reply.

See you soon,
John
