You play sport (e.g. football) for a local team. You recently heard that a player in your team is in a hospital. Write a letter to your team-mate. In your letter:
– Say how you feel about the news
– Ask about the treatment in the hospital
– Suggest some ways of cheering him/her up

Dear Jonathan,

I am extremely sorry to hear that you are hospitalized since the past one week. I was informed by our coach, Mr. Klopp yesterday that you suffered a major fall during one of the league games and had multiple fractures in your ankle and knees fracture and I did not know about this since I am traveling and will be back in another 2 days.

I will come and visit you as soon as I am back but wanted to check how the recuperation is going on and I am sure that the cast must be in place now and you must be feeling slightly better. How many fractures did you have? How are the facilities at the hospital in terms of doctor attendance, nursing and food? Were you on lot of painkillers and antibiotics? When are you likely to get discharged?

I will come and visit you day after tomorrow and since the coach told me you were in a nice private room with a television and gaming consoles, I am thinking of bringing some latest movies and some new games so we can play some games and you can also watch movies in the night. If the hospital policy allows, I can also stay with you in the night to give you company.

Please take good care of yourself and see you soon.

Best wishes,

AJ
