tell him which team won

describe the conditions on the day

say how you felt about the match

Dear Justin,

I hope you are doing well. It was really sad to hear about the fracture on your hand during the practice session. As a team, we were disappointed because you will not be able to join us for the crucial match.

Therefore, there was no other option for us to find a substitute for your replacement. Despite this, you will be glad to hear that we won the match and qualified to the next round finally. Before the match started, we know it is going to be tough for us to compete and almost the defeat was accepted by everyone. Initially, the huge support from our local crowd changed everything now we were boosted and ready to take it on. At the last, the scores were level and it was all on the penalties. I was afraid, due to we do not have a regular goalkeeper to handle this situation in your absence. I thought that's it, we will lose the game but David was amazing that day he saved two brilliant goals which were more than enough to register a great win for us.

Surely, we missed you in this match. I wish you will recover soon before the coming games. Take care of yourself.

Warm wishes,

Peter Evans
