- ask him/her about other times to visit

Dear Mandeep,

Thanks a lot for inviting me to spend time with you in Canada. I was waiting for this time since it has been a long 4 years that we have met. Moreover, Canada is in my bucket list to visit as I am fasicinated by it's beauty.

As much as I was excited to visit, I am sad to tell you that I won't be able to make it because of a my prior commitment to visit my grandparents in Punjab. Because of my job, I was so busy that I did not get time to see them from last one year, and I was very regretful for this. My Grandparents are getting older and I do not want to miss an opportunity to meet them and spend time with them. These holidays are only time that I can spend some quality time with them cherrishing old memories.

However, I wanted to tell that I will have my winter vacations in the last week of year. I wish to visit to you then; you will also have free time during that week because of Christmas Celebrations. Also, I would love to be with you during the New Year evening to celebrate and have fun as we used to do during our college days. Let me know, if this plan suits you well.

Yours lovingly,
XYZ
