The article states that if the employees are allowed to work 4 days a week instead of 5 days a week then there will significant benefits for the company, country and as well as the individual. The author provides three reasons of support of this. However, the lecturer refutes all of the claims made by the article and thinks that it will be more harmful.

First, the article states that if the employees work only 4 days a week then they will most likely be more active and alert as they will have sufficient rest, thus decreasing the chances of making errors which could be costly for the company. However, the lecturer says that if the worker only works 4 days then the company have to hire new employees due to which the company has to spend more money on the workers and other costs associated with them such as their medical costs. Moreover, more space in the office will be occupied because of the new employees and it will eventually cut off the profit of the company.

Secondly, the article posits that because of this change more people will get jobs to cover up the work left by the employees. However, the lecturer is against this idea and says that the company will have high expectations from the new employees to do the job similarly as it is being done by the employee who left it.

Finally, the article states that this change will benefit the employees highly by saying that there will be more free time for them. The employees will be able to have a good time with their family members due to which there will significant improvement in their social as well as family life. However, the lecturer states that the individual might be in risk after the change. According to him, if an employee works for only 4 days a week then the company will surely prioritize the ones who are working 5 days a week. Moreover, if there is any downturn in the company then the ones working 4 days only will have serious chances of losing the job.
