asteroids

asteroids

The reading and lecture are both about whether making colonization on an asteroid is a practical method, or it is a better way to form the colonize of humans on a Moon or Mars. The passage presents three explanations to posit why asteroid colonization is not a profitable way. The professor, however, refutes all of those explanations.

To begin with, the author of reading claims that due to the fact that asteroids have gravity less than Moon or Mars, it is a proper land for colonizing. Nevertheless, the professor opposes this claim by mentioning that living in the law gravity land have a plethora of risking for human; include losing muscle and decreasing in a bone density. Moreover, he states that even living in a low gravity land has a negative compact on people. Therefore, after a few months, they can suffer health problems, so this place is not an efficient location for the colonizing of creatures.

Secondly, the article posits that asteroids are a vast source of raw material, and it is a castable way if humans exploit valuable metals from asteroids. However, the professor maintains on the opposite opinion that mining from asteroids is not a profitable way because transporting minerals from asteroid to earth is high, and there is no grantee the price of material remains high. Maybe by adding material from the asteroid to ground, destroying the market price of metals.

Third, the reading mentions that sometimes asteroids come near our planet, so asteroid is adjacent to earth and be accessible instead of Moon or Mars, which are far away. The professor, however, casts doubt on this claim by stating that I agree by the claims that asteroid may be easy to reach, but it is not easy to return. Also, he says that asteroids travel through space in an unusual way; it is possible at first near to our planet but not stay. Therefore, go farther away and somehow farther than Mars and Moon.
